People of every class like to eat curd. The number of people eating it increases in summer. This time too, the heat has started wreaking havoc in the initial stages itself. In such a situation, people prefer food items that provide coolness to the body. There is such a curd shop in Banka also, where there is a crowd of people. The taste of curd available here is amazing, the sale is also tremendous. More than Rs 10 thousand worth of curd is sold every day. You will find this shop in Khesar Bazaar under Fulli Doomar block of Banka district. It is run by Ravi Gulshan.

Daily consumption is more than one quintal
Ravi Gulshan told that father used to handle this curd business. When he started falling ill, he started taking care of himself. But the taste of curd remains the same as it was during my father’s time. Ravi told that he has been selling frozen curd since 2020. Ravi told that he has also studied till graduation. He also tried to get a job, but did not get success, so he started taking forward the family business. He told that due to being a rural area, there is no shortage of milk. Farmers bring milk from the village. Their milk also remains pure. More than one quintal of curd is sold daily.

Curd is sold for Rs 100 per kg
Ravi told that milk is heated in a big pan on low wood flame. After this the milk is left to cool. After it cools down, milk is poured into an earthen vessel, strained and left aside. After 8 hours the milk gets converted into curd. Curd cooked in an earthen pan has a different taste. It costs Rs 85 to Rs 90 to prepare curd, whereas it is sold in the market at Rs 100 per kg. More than one quintal i.e. more than Rs 10 thousand is sold every day. He told that they also prepare it on order. From here the curd goes to the local market as well as markets like Belhar, Tarapur.
